I went to Seattle last month, and to my surprise, the United airline charged me $15 for checking my suitcase!!! So I found this one, hope you like it!
New baggage rules this summer mean that travelers need to pack carefully to avoid a dizzying array of extra fees and surcharges. In this week’s column, Pauline Frommer reviews the ins and outs of carry-on and checked bags.
Q: What are the maximum dimensions of luggage that can be carried on board? I’ll be traveling with Northwest to Germany in September and would rather carry my suitcase with me. I also plan to have a small backpack, if that’s possible.
